Buying a used Tesla in Switzerland

What to check on battery, warranty and hardware.

Battery health (SoH)

The key point. Compare the range shown at 100 % with the original figure and ask for a battery test if possible. Mileage alone says little.

Warranty

Tesla gives a separate battery and drive unit warranty by years or kilometres. Check from the first registration how much remains.

Hardware: Autopilot computer, MCU, heat pump

Depending on year, Autopilot hardware (HW3/HW4), infotainment computer and heat pump differ. They affect comfort, winter consumption and value.

Suspension and tyres

Listen for front axle noises (control arms) and check tyre condition – EVs are heavy and wear tyres faster.

Supercharging and software packages

Check whether free Supercharging or purchased software features are tied to the car and transfer on sale.

Test drive – or a trial rental

A short drive tells little about daily use, charging and winter. With tesly you can rent the model first.
